Default Worth replacing head and timing chain?

Hey guys I currently have a 1993 TR Elite at 327,000kms and have the dreaded timing chain rattle, on and off ticking of the lash adjusters and blue smoke from the valve stem seals.

I found a reconditioned head on ebay for $350 and a timing chain kit for around $110 and was wondering if it was worth purchasing these and paying a mechanic to fit them in order to fix these issues?
Also does anyone know of any mechanic in the Geelong area that would be willing to work on my Magna? So far every mechanic I talk to isn't interested regardless of money. I know the car may not be worth it to spend the money but its more about the sentimental value of the car to our family (long story) so I'm not too fussed about the costs.

    Thanks in advance =)

Mal isn't particularly close to geelong. I know there are a couple of members from down there so maybe put a thread into the Vic section
